GTA 6 phone apps: what has been reported so far

Two GTA 6 phone apps or functions are tied to the phone by name in reporting: Waink, a car scanner, and radio you can play on foot. Three more features have been named, Snapmatic, Ryde Me and texting or calling between Jason and Lucia, but the sources describe them as in-game apps or features without saying they live on the phone.

Rockstar has not published a list of apps for the phone in GTA VI, and the game does not launch until November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Everything below comes from Rob Nelson of Rockstar North speaking to IGN, or from Kotaku's own reporting.

The sources need a word of explanation. IGN published its full interview with Nelson on October 7, 2026. VI Cheats did not read IGN's own page, so the interview quotes here come from Insider Gaming and Inven Global, which printed them the same day. The Waink lines come from an earlier IGN preview, as quoted by Kotaku on August 28, 2026. The radio detail is Kotaku's report of October 8.

What does the Waink app do in GTA 6?

Waink is the car scanner, and it is the one feature Kotaku calls a phone app outright. Kotaku reported that the game has "an in-game phone app, named Waink, that will let you scan a car to learn more about it."

In the preview Kotaku quotes, Nelson said the app "tells me this car is locked, it's got an alarm, and has no tracker." It also shows "how much it's worth if I go to take it to a Pay n' Spray or a specialty car fence" and "how much it would cost for me to register it for myself."

What you do with that information is covered in our guide to how stealing cars works in GTA 6, including the Slim Jim and the key cloner.

Can you listen to the radio on your phone in GTA 6?

Yes, per Kotaku. Its October 8, 2026 report says "players will be able to listen to these and other radio stations on foot via Jason and Lucia's phones," and that on-demand podcasts can be played on foot or in a car.

Rockstar's own music page for the game promises "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet." That page does not mention the phone, so the phone detail rests on Kotaku. For the station names announced so far, see our GTA 6 radio stations guide.

Is Snapmatic in GTA 6?

Yes, by Nelson's account. Insider Gaming quotes him telling IGN: "We have Snapmatic. You have people that you follow and you can also just browse it."

Jason and Lucia cannot post, though. Nelson's reason, as Insider Gaming prints it, is that "you're a couple on the run. You just lurk." Inven Global calls it an in-game social media app the pair can only browse. Neither outlet says it sits on the phone.

Snapmatic is a returning name from GTA V. Nelson has not said whether the GTA VI version includes a camera you control, and no photo mode for it has been shown.

Is there fast travel in GTA 6?

A ride app covers it. Inven Global's summary of the IGN interview says "Ryde Me, the game's version of Uber, doubles as fast travel." It does not say how you open Ryde Me, and no outlet VI Cheats read gives a price, a range, or whether it works during a mission.

Insider Gaming separately reports that Nelson talked about conversations with passengers during taxi rides, and about passive car rides where the AI drives one of the pair. Inven Global's piece does not use the word taxi. Treat Ryde Me and the taxi rides as two separate mentions until Rockstar shows how they fit together.

Can you text and call in GTA 6?

Yes. Inven Global reports that players "can text or call the other character at any time." It does not name the phone as the way you do it, though that is the obvious reading.

According to the same summary, ignoring a goodnight message "may impact your relationship a bit." Nelson gave no numbers and no meter for that relationship, so read it as a direction rather than a system you can plan around.

Nobody has described other contacts, a number pad, or a way to dial arbitrary numbers. Cheat hunters will notice that gap, and the next section explains why.

Is there a cheat app on the GTA 6 phone?

Nothing says so. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code of any kind. None of the features above involves a cheat, and Nelson did not mention one.

The question comes up because the phone has carried cheats before. In GTA IV you typed cheat phone numbers into the in-game phone, and GTA V reused the idea with its own numbers alongside button codes. That is how those two games worked. It is not a prediction for GTA VI, and no number from either game is known to do anything in the new one. Our history of phone cheats in the series lays out what each game did.

The GTA 6 cheats page is updated when anything verifiable appears. Anything sold or shared now as a GTA VI phone cheat or cheat app is not real, and VI Cheats does not link to mod menus or trainers of any kind.

Frequently asked questions

Can you post on Snapmatic in GTA 6?

No, by Rob Nelson's account to IGN. He said Jason and Lucia can follow people and browse the feed but "just lurk" because they are a couple on the run.

Is Ryde Me the same as a taxi in GTA 6?

Not confirmed. Inven Global calls Ryde Me the game's version of Uber and says it doubles as fast travel. Taxi rides came up separately in Insider Gaming's report. Rockstar has not shown how the two relate.

Does the GTA 6 phone have a cheat menu?

No one has said it does. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI. The phone-number cheats of GTA IV and GTA V belong to those games only.

Has Rockstar released a full list of GTA 6 phone apps?

No. Only Waink and the radio are tied to the phone in reporting so far, both via Kotaku. Snapmatic, Ryde Me and texting were named in one developer interview with IGN without saying where they sit. A full list may only be known once the game is out on November 19, 2026. Our roundup of GTA 6 gameplay details from previews collects the other systems described so far.
