How many GTA 6 pre orders has Take-Two reported?
None. Take-Two Interactive has not published a pre-order number for Grand Theft Auto VI, so nobody outside the company can say how many GTA 6 pre orders have been placed. Its chief executive, Strauss Zelnick, has described them only in words, calling the level of pre-orders "unprecedented and astonishing" in remarks reported on August 7, 2026.
Nothing more specific has been published. There is no count of copies. There is no pre-sale revenue figure for the game, and no split between the Standard and Ultimate editions. If a page gives you a precise total, it did not get it from Take-Two or Rockstar Games.
What did Take-Two say about GTA 6 pre-orders on the earnings call?
Take-Two held its first-quarter fiscal 2027 call on August 7, 2026. That quarter ended on June 30. Pre-orders opened on June 25, so they were live for only the last few days of the period being reported.
GamingBolt, citing Variety's report of the call, quoted Zelnick saying the level of pre-orders "is unprecedented and astonishing, and we're very grateful for that." He also said Rockstar got the pricing of the editions right and that the company was happy with the mix of editions being bought. He gave no breakdown.
We could not reach a full public transcript of the call, so every quote here is attributed to the outlet that reported it rather than to a transcript.
Does the Take-Two earnings release give a pre-order figure?
No. We read the Q1 fiscal 2027 earnings release dated August 7, 2026, in the copy Take-Two filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It contains no pre-order count of any kind.
Two things in it do bear on GTA VI:
- Its release schedule lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
- It reiterates a full-year fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion, and ties that outlook to the excitement around the November 19th launch.
Net bookings covers every Take-Two label and every game the company sells. It is a company-wide figure, so it cannot be read as a GTA VI pre-order total, and nothing in the release says how much of it comes from Rockstar's game.
Why won't Take-Two say how many GTA 6 pre orders it has?
Zelnick gave his own reason. In the GamingBolt account of the call, he said the pre-orders were so unprecedented that the company did not know how they would translate into sales. Put simply, strong pre-orders show demand. They do not yet show how many copies will end up sold.
There is a practical side too. A pre-order is not a finished sale. Buyers can still cancel before launch, and the rules depend on the store you used. Our guide on how to cancel a GTA 6 pre-order covers that store by store.
Are the "millions of pre-orders" numbers online real?
We have found a source for none of them. Every "X million pre-orders" figure we have checked leads back to nothing on the record: no Take-Two filing, no Rockstar post, no attributed quote from either company. We are not repeating any of those numbers here, and Take-Two has confirmed none of them.
A simple test works for any claimed total. Ask whether it names a Take-Two filing, an earnings call or a Rockstar announcement, and treat it as unconfirmed when it names none of them. The same habit filters out fake GTA 6 cheat codes, which spread in exactly the same way, and the fake GTA 6 pre-order sites that borrow the hype.
When could Take-Two share GTA 6 pre-order numbers?
The next scheduled chance is Take-Two's second-quarter fiscal 2027 report, which will cover the quarter that ended September 30, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, Take-Two's investor relations site lists no date for it.
For a sense of timing only: last year the company announced its second-quarter date on October 9, 2025, for results on November 6, 2025. That is a past pattern, not a promise for 2026. Check Take-Two's investor relations page on the day you read this, since the date may have been set since.
Even when that report arrives, there is no commitment to a pre-order figure. Take-Two has not said it will ever disclose one. For the dates that Rockstar has actually published around launch, see GTA 6 pre-order and preload dates.
Do GTA 6 pre-orders come with cheat codes?
Nothing Rockstar has published links a pre-order to cheats. Rockstar has said nothing at all about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code. A site that promises pre-order cheat codes is not passing on anything Rockstar said. We track what is and is not confirmed on our GTA 6 cheats status page.
VI Cheats is an independent site. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
Did GTA 6 break pre-order records?
Take-Two has not claimed a record. Zelnick called the pre-orders unprecedented, but the company has published no figure and no ranking against other games.
How much money has GTA 6 made from pre-orders?
Take-Two has not said. Its August 7, 2026 earnings release gives no GTA VI pre-sale revenue figure, and any dollar amount you see elsewhere did not come from Take-Two.
When is Take-Two's next earnings report?
It will cover the quarter that ended September 30, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, no date had been announced on Take-Two's investor relations site.
Which GTA 6 edition are people pre-ordering most?
Take-Two has not said. Zelnick said the company was happy with the mix of editions being bought, but no split between Standard and Ultimate has been published.
