Is there a GTA 6 PC release date?
No. There is no GTA 6 PC release date because Rockstar Games has not announced a PC version. The only platforms Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft list for Grand Theft Auto VI are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026.
That is the whole answer as of October 9, 2026. Below is the evidence: what the official pages list, what Take-Two's chief executive has said on record, and how long two earlier Rockstar games took to reach PC. None of it adds up to a date, and this article does not predict one.
What platforms does Rockstar list for GTA 6?
Rockstar's own game page at rockstargames.com shows "Coming November 19, 2026" and lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. We read it on October 9, 2026. There is no PC line, no Windows line, and no mention of Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Games Launcher.
The two store pages match. The PlayStation US product page, read the same day, lists PS5 with a release date of 11/19/2026, "1 player", and the line "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience." Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate is $99.99. The Xbox listing shows 11/19/2026, "Single player" and "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S". The only place the letters PC appear on that Xbox page is the site's own navigation menu, not the game entry.
Rockstar's Newswire post of November 6, 2025 set the current date. The earlier changes are in our GTA 6 delay history, and our GTA 6 release date page tracks what Rockstar lists today. None of the announced dates, old or current, ever had a PC attached.
Has Take-Two said anything about GTA 6 on PC?
Yes, but never a date and never a confirmation. Take-Two Interactive is Rockstar's parent company. Its chief executive, Strauss Zelnick, has been asked about PC more than once.
In February 2025, speaking to IGN, Zelnick said: "Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms." Dexerto reported the quote on February 10, 2025. In the same interview he said that for some titles "we don't always go across all platforms simultaneously."
In May 2026, Zelnick told Bloomberg: "Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that, you're judged by serving the core." He added: "Historically, Rockstar's gone to console first." PCWorld carried the remarks on May 5, 2026.
Both answers describe a pattern. Neither names a platform, a window or a year for Grand Theft Auto VI. Zelnick points at history and leaves any announcement to Rockstar, and Rockstar has made none.
How long did GTA V and RDR2 take to reach PC?
Two Rockstar games before this one launched on consoles first and came to PC later. The dates below are history, and nothing in them is a schedule for Grand Theft Auto VI.
- Grand Theft Auto V launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. Take-Two's launch-day press release was headlined "Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto V Now Available", and Engadget had reported the date on January 31, 2013. The GTA V PC version arrived on April 14, 2015. Rockstar set that date in a Newswire post on February 24, 2015 after earlier slips; Guru3D and HEXUS reported it that week. Console to PC: about nineteen months.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018. Xbox Wire published "Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available worldwide for Xbox One" that day. The RDR2 PC version arrived on November 5, 2019. Rockstar announced it on October 4, 2019, and PCWorld and Shacknews reported the date. Console to PC: a little over twelve months.
Two data points, and the gaps differ by more than half a year. If Grand Theft Auto VI follows either pattern, the first real PC news would come from Rockstar some time after November 19, 2026, and if it does not, the list tells you nothing. The timing detail that matters is from the Red Dead Redemption 2 case, where Rockstar did not announce the PC version until almost a year after the console launch.
Where do the 2027 GTA 6 PC date claims come from?
Search results for the PC version are full of 2027. They mostly fall into two groups.
The first is a social media post from 2026 that cited unnamed former Rockstar employees and a February 2027 target, with the caveat that nothing was final. That is a leak from anonymous sources. It is unconfirmed, and this site does not treat it as fact.
The second is analyst and outlet extrapolation: take the GTA V gap or the Red Dead Redemption 2 gap, add it to November 19, 2026, and you land somewhere between late 2027 and 2028. It is a guess built on two past games, and the people doing it generally say so.
Neither group is Rockstar or Take-Two. If a headline says the GTA 6 PC release date is confirmed, check whether the body quotes a Rockstar Newswire post. As of today, none can, because there is none.
Can you pre-order GTA 6 on PC?
No. There is nothing to pre-order. The Rockstar Store, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox store sell PS5 and Xbox Series X|S pre-orders only. Any website listing a PC pre-order, a Steam key, a PC early access bundle or a PC download for Grand Theft Auto VI is not selling a real product. Our guide to spotting a fake GTA 6 pre-order site lists what to check before you pay anyone.
The same logic covers cheats. There is no PC version, so there is no PC cheat list, and VI Cheats has verified no Grand Theft Auto VI code on any platform. Our separate article on GTA 6 cheats on PC explains how the circulating PC lists are recycled GTA V material. The GTA 6 cheats page is where a verified code would appear if one ever exists.
What would change this article?
Any of these would:
- A Rockstar Newswire post naming PC.
- A PC entry appearing on rockstargames.com, Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Store.
- A Take-Two filing or earnings release listing Grand Theft Auto VI on PC with a window.
Another Zelnick interview about Rockstar's history would not, and neither would a leak or an analyst note. When one of the real triggers happens, this page gets the date, the source and the day we read it. Until then the GTA 6 PC release date stays blank, and we would rather show a blank than a guess.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Rockstar has not announced a PC version. The only platforms listed are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two's chief executive has described Rockstar's past console-first pattern to IGN and Bloomberg without confirming a PC release for this game.
Will GTA 6 be on Steam?
No Steam page exists, and Rockstar has not named Steam, the Epic Games Store or its own launcher for Grand Theft Auto VI. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 did get PC versions, in 2015 and 2019, but that is precedent, not a plan.
Is there a GTA 6 PC pre-order?
No. No official store sells a PC pre-order. Any site that does is not selling a real product. Check the storefront against our fake pre-order guide first.
When will Rockstar announce GTA 6 for PC?
Nobody outside Rockstar knows, and Rockstar has not said. For GTA V the PC date was set about seventeen months after the console launch; for Red Dead Redemption 2 the PC announcement came about eleven months after.
