GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Release Date and What It Confirms

Rockstar released the GTA 6 launch trailer on October 15, 2026, with no teaser beforehand. It runs about a minute and a half, and Rockstar's post on X announcing it, as embedded by mxdwn Games, ends with the line that Grand Theft Auto VI arrives November 19.

Rockstar titles it the "Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer". The video sits on Rockstar's own trailer page, which we read on October 16. Kotaku reported the drop the same day and lists the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nothing in the launch coverage points to a PC or Switch 2 version.

The release date itself comes from Rockstar's Newswire post of November 6, 2025, which moved the game to November 19, 2026. The trailer did not change it. For the full schedule, our GTA 6 release date page tracks it.

How Long Is the New GTA 6 Trailer?

About ninety seconds. Kotaku describes it as roughly a minute and a half long. That makes it close in length to the first trailer and much shorter than the second.

Rockstar's page lists the runtimes of the earlier videos next to their dates:

  • Trailer 1: one minute 31 seconds, December 4, 2023
  • Trailer 2: two minutes 47 seconds, May 6, 2025
  • An Extended Look: just under 27 minutes, August 27, 2026

What Song Is in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?

The track is "Flower in a Hurricane". Rockstar's trailer page credits it to the game's "original score composers Justice" featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Kotaku reported that Rockstar confirmed the song will appear on the official soundtrack release, and mxdwn Games reported it is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. We cover the album, its formats and its other announced artists in our GTA 6 soundtrack album report.

Consequence reported on October 15 that a separate original score album is planned, with more information to come.

What Does the Launch Trailer Show of Jason and Lucia?

This section relies on Kotaku's description of the trailer. Per Kotaku, it mixes gunfire, crimes and car chases with a look at why Jason turned to crime. In one line he says on camera: "I got in trouble in the army." Kotaku also notes an intimate moment between Jason and Lucia.

Rockstar's official story blurb, as quoted by mxdwn Games, is unchanged. Jason and Lucia's easy score goes wrong and pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across the state of Leonida, starting in Vice City. Our GTA 6 characters list covers who has been named so far.

Some coverage says an end card reads that the footage was captured on PS5. Rockstar's trailer page text does not say that, and we have not verified it.

Where the Launch Trailer Sits Among the GTA 6 Trailers

It is the third main trailer. Trailer 1 came out on December 4, 2023 and Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025. The long-form Extended Look on August 27, 2026 was a different format, a near half-hour presentation rather than a short trailer.

For months people searched for a "Trailer 3" date that Rockstar never gave. Our Trailer 3 release date tracker followed that wait, and this video closes it. Rockstar called it a launch trailer rather than Trailer 3. Our GTA 6 Extended Look report covers the August video in detail.

mxdwn Games called it the third and presumably final trailer before launch. That is the outlet's own reading. Rockstar has not said whether more videos will follow before November 19.

Does the GTA 6 Launch Trailer Show Any Cheats?

No. The trailer shows no cheat codes, no phone numbers, no button sequences and no cheat-entry screen. It also names no new gameplay systems. Nothing in Rockstar's page text or the outlets we checked adds a feature Rockstar has not already described.

Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code. Our GTA 6 cheats page will list codes only after we can test them on the released game. As precedent only: in GTA V, cheats were tied to the session, so reloading a save or rebooting cleared them. That is GTA V behaviour, not a GTA VI prediction.

What Else Changed on Rockstar's Page

The ESRB descriptors now sit on Rockstar's trailer page: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol, plus an In-Game Purchases notice. The ESRB rating page, read on October 16, lists the game as M (Mature 17+) for PS5 and Xbox Series.

Kotaku and mxdwn Games both still list November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

VI Cheats is independent and is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Sony or Microsoft.

When did the GTA 6 launch trailer come out?

October 15, 2026. Rockstar released it without a teaser, and the date is shown under the video on Rockstar's own trailer page.

What is the song in the new GTA 6 trailer?

"Flower in a Hurricane". Rockstar credits it to Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Is the GTA 6 launch trailer the same as Trailer 3?

It is the third main trailer after the 2023 and 2025 videos, but Rockstar titled it the Launch Trailer. Rockstar's trailer page does not use the name Trailer 3.

Did the launch trailer change the GTA 6 release date?

No. Rockstar's post on X for the trailer says Grand Theft Auto VI arrives November 19. Kotaku and mxdwn Games list it for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
