Rockstar Games has never published a video called Trailer 3, so there is no GTA 6 trailer 3 release date to give. Three pieces of official Grand Theft Auto VI footage exist, and the third one carries its own name: Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.
That is the answer. The rest of this page is the paperwork behind it - each video, the day it went out, and the Rockstar post it went out in.
Is there a third GTA VI trailer coming?
Not one Rockstar has announced. The video shelf on Rockstar's own game page at rockstargames.com/VI held exactly three entries when the page was last checked on September 18, 2026: "An Extended Look", badged Now Playing, then "Trailer 2", then "Trailer 1". No Trailer 3. No countdown to one. That same page reads "Coming November 19, 2026" and lists two platforms, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, matching what Rockstar currently lists for the release date.
A third numbered trailer could still happen. Rockstar has put launch trailers out close to release before, and plenty of outlets have extrapolated from that habit into a predicted date. Until something appears on Rockstar's Newswire, there is no date to report.
Trailer 1, December 4, 2023
Rockstar announced the first trailer for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 9AM ET, in a Newswire post titled for exactly that slot. Low-quality footage had leaked to TikTok on December 2, and Rockstar published the real file a day early rather than let a stolen copy run. The studio's own post on X read: "Our trailer has leaked, so please watch the real thing on YouTube." TechRadar reported the early release on December 4, 2023.
Trailer 1 set a 2025 release window. Two delays have moved it since, both announced in 2025.
Trailer 2, May 6, 2025
The second trailer arrived four days after a delay. Rockstar announced on May 2, 2025 that the game had moved to May 26, 2026, and on May 6, 2025 it published "Grand Theft Auto VI - Watch Trailer 2 Now" on the Newswire. Two leads, Jason and Lucia. Vice City, and more of the surrounding state of Leonida than the first trailer showed.
That was the last numbered trailer Rockstar made. Nearly sixteen months went by before the next official video.
An Extended Look, August 27, 2026
On August 27, 2026 Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. Netflix carried it first, at 3PM ET, under a six-hour exclusive window that Engadget wrote up on August 26, 2026. It reached Rockstar's own YouTube channel at 9PM ET the same evening, and Rockstar marked the handover with a second Newswire post, "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look - Now Playing".
Netflix put the runtime at 26 minutes and said the footage was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. That is many times the length of either numbered trailer, and that length is the practical reason people reach for the phrase "trailer 3" when they describe it.
Why does everyone call the Extended Look trailer 3?
Because it is the third thing, and because trailer 3 is what people type into a search box.
The phrase was in circulation long before there was anything to attach it to. Outlets including Forbes and Beebom were publishing "when will Trailer 3 arrive" pieces months before August, with Beebom's own text conceding Rockstar had never announced a third trailer. After August 27 the same phrase began appearing on coverage of the Extended Look.
Rockstar did not number it. The Extended Look is not called Trailer 3 on the game page, in either Newswire post, or on the YouTube upload. Someone telling you Trailer 3 dropped on August 27 means the Extended Look, using a name Rockstar does not use for it.
A GTA 6 trailer 3 release date is an empty slot in a search index, and empty slots attract whatever is willing to fill them, which is the next section.
How do you tell official GTA VI footage from a fake?
One rule covers it. If a video is not on Rockstar's own channel and not linked from a Rockstar Newswire post, it is not official footage.
Malwarebytes documented a cluster of counterfeit sites in August 2026, first seen on August 19, 2026, built to impersonate the real Extended Look and serve the Vidar infostealer. Their published tell: where Rockstar's page has a Pre-Order button, the fakes had Play Now. The payload was an installer of roughly 1.1 MB, which is not a size any piece of this game comes in.
Rockstar has never released a GTA VI demo, so a site offering one is fraudulent by definition. The same goes for any page that wants you to download something in order to watch a trailer. Trailers stream.
Did the Extended Look say anything about cheats?
No. Twenty-six minutes of footage, and nothing about cheats in either Newswire post, on the game page, or anywhere else Rockstar has published. That silence is why every cheat reference on this site is labelled unverified. Our reference list of cheat effects is GTA V's list, badged as GTA V's list, for the same reason. The money cheat page runs on the same logic: no shipped game, no code to report.
Questions people ask about GTA VI trailers
Was the Extended Look the third GTA 6 trailer?
It is the third piece of official footage, but Rockstar never numbered it. The Newswire posts and the game page both call it Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look and nothing else. Treat trailer 3 as a nickname the audience gave it, not a title Rockstar assigned.
How many GTA 6 trailers are there?
Two numbered trailers plus the Extended Look, so three official videos in total as of September 18, 2026. Trailer 1 went out on December 4, 2023, Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, and the Extended Look on August 27, 2026. Rockstar's game page lists those three and nothing else.
Will there be a GTA 6 launch trailer before November?
Not that Rockstar has said. The game is dated November 19, 2026, and a pre-release trailer would fit the studio's past behaviour, but nothing has been announced. If one is coming, the Newswire will carry it first.
Where can I watch GTA 6: An Extended Look?
Rockstar's own YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI page on rockstargames.com, both free and both streaming. It premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, six hours ahead of the YouTube upload that evening. Any other site asking you to install something first is not Rockstar.
Has GTA 6 been delayed again in 2026?
No. Rockstar's page still read "Coming November 19, 2026" when it was last checked on September 18, 2026, and the date has not moved at any point during 2026. Both delays were announced in 2025, on May 2 and November 6. Any fresh delay claim without a Newswire post behind it is unverified.
