Who is the GTA 6 score composer?

Justice, the French electronic duo, wrote the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games named them on October 15, 2026, when its launch trailer page called the act the game's "original score composers Justice".

We read that page on October 16, 2026. Rockstar's Music page also carries a section headed "Official Score by Justice". Kotaku and Consequence name Justice as the score composers; NME says Justice are behind the in-game soundtrack. Nothing else about the score has been announced yet: no track names, no running time, no details of how it plays in missions.

What song did Justice release with the GTA 6 launch trailer?

The song is "Flower in a Hurricane". It played over the launch trailer Rockstar released on October 15 with no teaser beforehand, and Rockstar's Music page calls it a new standalone single.

The credit on Rockstar's launch trailer page reads Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Consequence adds the finer detail. It says Kevin Parker of Tame Impala is credited on guitar, SZA on vocals, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard as composers and lyricists.

The track will also appear on the game's official album. Kotaku reported that Rockstar confirmed it will be part of the official soundtrack release, and Consequence wrote the same. NME lists it among nine songs revealed so far from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.

Is Justice new to GTA 6, or have we heard them before?

Not new. Consequence reports that Justice music was already in the score of the extended look Rockstar released in late August and in the official cover art reveal. Our GTA 6 extended look report covers that video. The October 15 announcement was the first time Rockstar put a name to the composers.

Score, album and radio: what is the difference in GTA 6?

Three separate things share the word "music" right now. They are easy to mix up.

  • The original score. This is the music Justice composed for the game itself. Consequence says Rockstar also plans a separate original score album and promises more information later. No release date, format or track list has been given.
  • Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Rockstar's Music page lists it as a collection of thirty-four original tracks, "Coming November 19". It is a multi-artist record, not the Justice score. Our GTA 6 soundtrack album article covers that record in detail.
  • The in-game radio. Rockstar's Music page named six stations and on-demand podcasts on October 8. That list is in our GTA 6 radio stations guide.

The GTA 6 score composer credit belongs to Justice alone. The album and the radio feature many other artists.

Has a GTA game had an original score before?

Yes, once. Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013, was the first game in the series with an original score. Earlier GTA games leaned on in-game radio stations.

XXL reported on October 28, 2013 that GTA V's score came from Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist and Oh No. It called that work the series' first-ever score.

That is precedent from GTA V only. It tells you Rockstar has used both a composed score and radio stations in one game before. It does not tell you how the Justice score will be used in GTA VI, and Rockstar has not described that.

What has not been announced about the GTA 6 score?

Quite a lot. As of October 16, 2026:

  • No track list for the score.
  • No release date or format for the separate score album.
  • No word on how the score plays during missions or free roam. Rockstar's page does not describe it as dynamic or adaptive.
  • No other composers named by Rockstar.

The game's own release date has not moved. Rockstar's Newswire, read on October 16, still lists November 19, 2026. Our GTA 6 release date page tracks that.

Does the score change anything for cheats?

No. Naming the GTA 6 score composer has no bearing on cheat codes. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code. Our GTA 6 cheats hub will list codes only after we have checked them in the released game.

VI Cheats is an independent site. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Sony or Microsoft.

Who composed the GTA 6 soundtrack?

Justice composed the original score, according to Rockstar's launch trailer page. The separate album, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, features many other artists, and the in-game radio stations are separate again.

Is Flower in a Hurricane in GTA 6?

Kotaku reported that Rockstar confirmed the song will be on the official soundtrack release. NME lists it among the nine songs revealed so far from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.

When does the GTA 6 score album come out?

No date has been announced. Consequence says a separate original score album is planned, with more information to come.

Who did the music for GTA 5?

GTA V's original score was by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist and Oh No, as XXL reported in 2013. It was the first original score in the series.
