How do you enter GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition cheats?

On PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, you press a button sequence while the game is running and unpaused. On PC you type a word during play, and on iPhone, iPad and Android you open Options, go to the Accessibility tab and tap Enter Cheat Code. This page covers the entry method only. The code lists live in our guides to GTA III cheats, Vice City cheats and San Andreas cheats and their history.

The 2021 remaster bundles all three games. Xbox Wire announced on October 22, 2021 that it would launch digitally on November 11, 2021. Each game keeps its own codes, but the way you type them in is shared across the set.

How to enter cheats on PS4, PS5 and Xbox

GamesRadar's GTA 3 cheats guide, updated September 11, 2026, gives the console rule. Enter the buttons in order during play. The game must not be paused or in a cutscene. Each press still does its normal job, so your character may punch, jump or swing the camera while you type the code. GamesRadar's Vice City guide suggests moving to a quiet spot first so you do not hit a pedestrian by accident.

Xbox owners who learned codes on the original games need to relearn them. GamesRadar says the port flipped the triggers used in Xbox codes from their original positions. Its GTA III tables show the shift plainly. The old Xbox health code opened on the bumpers, while the Definitive Edition version opens on the triggers. Use a list marked for the Definitive Edition, not one written for the original Xbox release.

The same guide adds that a keyboard attached to a console should also work for typing the PC phrase. GamesRadar words this as "should also be able to", so treat it as likely rather than confirmed.

How to enter cheats on Nintendo Switch

The Switch works the same way as the other consoles: a sequence of presses during unpaused play. Only the button names change. We compared the GTA III health and armor entries in GamesRadar's guide and Den of Geek's list from November 12, 2021, and both map the PlayStation buttons the same way. R2 becomes ZR. L1 becomes L. R1 becomes R. L2 becomes ZL. In Den of Geek's Vice City entries, the Circle button becomes A.

That mapping is our reading of two published tables, not a Rockstar statement. If a Switch code fails, check that the list you are using was written for the Definitive Edition.

How to type GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition cheats on PC

PC players type the phrase on the keyboard while playing. PCGamesN's Vice City guide from November 12, 2021 says to type the code exactly as shown while the game is unpaused. There is no menu and no text box.

Two text codes show the format. Both appear in our own lists, and each matched in two sources we fetched:

  • GESUNDHEIT - full health in GTA III. GamesRadar and Den of Geek print it the same way.
  • ASPIRINE - full health in Vice City. PCGamesN and Den of Geek print it the same way.

Every other code is in the game guides linked above, sorted by game.

How to use cheats on iPhone, iPad and Android

The mobile versions do not use button presses on the touch screen. They use a typed code in a menu. Destructoid described the steps in January 2024:

  • Open the Options menu, either in-game or from the title screen.
  • Go to the far right tab, Accessibility.
  • Near the bottom, tap Enter Cheat Code.
  • Type the code in the text box, or paste one from your clipboard, then tap Ok.

Destructoid says the cheat turns on immediately. TouchArcade's guide from December 18, 2023 describes the same path from inside a game: tap the map in the corner of the screen, then Options, then the Accessibility tab, where the Enter Cheat Code button sits below Color Blind Mode. TouchArcade says the box takes the same PC phrases from years ago. It also says that with a controller paired, you can enter the console button sequences during play instead.

Can you still play the trilogy on Netflix?

Not according to the reports we found. The trilogy came to Netflix Games on December 14, 2023, as TechCrunch reported when it was announced. Engadget reported in November 2024 that December 13, 2024 was the last day to play GTA III and Vice City through Netflix. Netflix told Engadget that games leave the service as licenses expire, just like series and films.

San Andreas stayed a year longer. GameRant reported that it left Netflix on December 11, 2025, and called it the most downloaded game the service had carried.

For the two games that left in 2024, Engadget said players would need to buy them from the iOS and Android app stores. We have not found a source on what each game costs on mobile today, so we do not quote a price. The menu path above is the one the outlets described while the games were on Netflix.

Do cheats disable achievements in the Definitive Edition?

The sources point to yes, with some hedging. GamesRadar's guides say that on recent versions, cheats may disable trophies or achievements. GTA Base's Vice City page is firmer: on PS4 and PS5, it says using cheats permanently disables Trophies on the current save file.

GamesRadar also says to save before cheating, because some codes have effects you cannot undo. A save made before any code is entered is the one to keep if you want trophies on that file.

Some old codes are gone too. GamesRadar reported on November 11, 2021 that producer Rich Rosado told USA Today Rockstar "had to remove a couple" of cheats for technical reasons. He did not say which ones.

Do any of these cheats work in GTA VI?

No. Nothing ties the trilogy's cheats, or its menu, to GTA VI. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code. Rockstar's Newswire set GTA VI for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Our GTA 6 cheats status page tracks what is and is not confirmed.

VI Cheats is independent and not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or Netflix. Game names are used only to identify the games.

Where is the cheat menu in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition on mobile?

Destructoid and TouchArcade both place it in Options, on the Accessibility tab, as the Enter Cheat Code option. It opens a text box for the code.

Can you pause the game to enter cheats on PS5 or Xbox?

No. GamesRadar says console codes only work while the game is running, not paused and not in a cutscene.

Are GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition cheats different on Switch?

The order of presses is the same. Only the button names change, with ZR, ZL, L and R in place of the PlayStation shoulder buttons.

Can I still get the GTA Trilogy on Netflix?

Not according to the reports we found. GTA III and Vice City left Netflix after December 13, 2024, according to Engadget, and GameRant reported that San Andreas left on December 11, 2025.
