Rockstar has named six GTA 6 locations as major regions of the state of Leonida: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. All six appear in the "Only in Leonida" section of Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI website, read on 2026-09-18. Rockstar has named smaller places in its other published material, and those are collected below.
Every name below was read on Rockstar's own pages on 2026-09-18: the Grand Theft Auto VI site at rockstargames.com, the Rockstar Store listing for the Ultimate Edition, and Rockstar's Extended Look. The source for each name is given next to the name. This page leaves out real-world comparisons, map measurements, county names and anything from the 2022 leak. Quotes are Rockstar's wording with the punctuation flattened to plain characters. No words are changed.
What GTA 6 locations has Rockstar actually named?
The state is Leonida. Rockstar's one-line summary of it reads: "Home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond."
Under that summary the site sorts the game world into six cards you can click through. In Rockstar's order: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Mount Kalaga. Each card carries a short tagline and one paragraph. Six cards, read on 2026-09-18.
The six are regions, not a town list. Rockstar has not published a settlement index, a district map or a list of mission locations for Leonida.
What is Vice City, and what is inside it?
Rockstar's tagline: "We're a long way from the '80s, but Vice City is still the sun and fun capital of America."
The longer description is where smaller areas first get names of their own. It calls the city "the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city," then names four places inside it: Ocean Beach, for the pastel art deco hotels and the white sand; Little Cuba, for its bakeries; the Tisha-Wocka flea market, for "the bootleg brands"; and the VC Port, which Rockstar calls "the cruise ship capital of the world."
That is four named areas from the region card alone. Rockstar names more of the city in its other published material, and those names are further down this page.
Leonida Keys, Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn
Leonida Keys carries the tagline "Gateway to Paradise." Rockstar's paragraph describes a tropical archipelago where life is easy rather than flashy, and warns that the waters around it are among the most beautiful and the most dangerous in America.
For Grassrivers the tagline is "The untamable jewel of Leonida's crown," and the paragraph under it is about what sits below the surface of the wetlands. Gators are the famous attraction. Rockstar says there are deadlier predators among the mangroves.
Port Gellhorn is "Leonida's forgotten coast." Rockstar's paragraph lists cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls, then gives the place a new local economy running on malt liquor, painkillers and truck stop energy drinks.
None of those paragraphs names a town, a road or an island.
Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga
Ambrosia's tagline is "The battle for the health and wealth of Leonida begins here." Rockstar's paragraph puts American industry and old school values at the heart of the state, names the Allied Crystal sugar refinery as the employer, and hands almost everything else to the local biker gang. Allied Crystal is a business rather than a place. It is Rockstar's own word, and Rockstar puts it in Ambrosia.
Mount Kalaga carries the tagline "Room to breathe on the state's northern fringes." Rockstar's description calls it a national landmark against the state's northern border, gives it hunting, fishing and off-road trails, and puts hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals in the backwoods around it. Fan databases index the region as Mount Kalaga National Park. Rockstar's own card says Mount Kalaga, and that is the form used here, read 2026-09-18.
What did the Extended Look name?
Rockstar published Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on August 27, 2026, and it named places the region cards do not. Bayside is a storefront district on the water in Vice City. Effluvia is a rooftop bar downtown, where Jason and Lucia are offered work. Megamundo, the television network, has a headquarters building of its own near the airport.
Those are Rockstar's names, so they go on the list. None of them arrived with a map reference, and Rockstar has still published nothing showing where any of them sits relative to anything else.
Where else has Rockstar named a place?
The Rockstar Store listing for the Ultimate Edition, read on 2026-09-18, names Lake Leonida, where the mod shop One-Eyed Willie's sits, and Watson Bay, home to the Paradise Garage. The same copy names Stockyard, which reads as an area rather than a shop, because Rockstar puts two businesses in it: the clothing store Stock 305 and the tattoo shop Electric Fang Tattoo. Rideout Customs and Sara's Unisex Salon are named with no district attached. One of that edition's bonus missions is a raid in Southside Vice City.
Leonida Penitentiary comes from Rockstar's story material rather than the store copy. It is where Lucia is held at the start, and it appears in Trailer 1.
Rockstar's weapon copy also uses the words Vercetti Estate, but only to say where a revolver's styling was sourced from. It does not say the Estate is a place in Leonida. It is listed here as a name Rockstar used, not as a location, and anyone telling you the mansion is confirmed to be in the game is reading a product description as an announcement.
Rockstar named all of these, so they are listed. Each one is a name and a sentence of context, with nothing about where it sits.
Why do other pages list counties and towns?
Search this topic and you will find pages placing Port Gellhorn in a county, giving a total for the counties in Leonida, and listing towns. Kelly County is the name that recurs. The largest GTA wiki puts Port Gellhorn inside it and, in the same entry, says the county name comes from a roadside sign in Trailer 1. A sign read off a trailer frame is not a name Rockstar has written down. It is not in Rockstar's copy on the Only in Leonida page, read on 2026-09-18.
Some of the other names trace to the September 2022 development leak, others to fan mapping built on trailer frames. We have not traced each one, and some may turn out to be right. None of it is an announcement.
So, narrowly: Rockstar has not written a county name or a Leonida town name into its own published copy as of 2026-09-18. That is the claim this page makes. It is not a claim that the list above is closed. Rockstar adds names every time it publishes, and the Extended Look added three.
How this page is checked
The rule here is the one used on the code references. A name goes on this page only if it appears in Rockstar's own published material, and the date it was read travels with it. That is the four-label system set out in how VI Cheats labels and verifies references.
One more thing, since people ask it on map pages. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in Grand Theft Auto VI, and that includes anything that would move a player around Leonida. Our GTA V cheat reference list is badged as GTA V for that reason.
The game is listed for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S, per Rockstar's game page and its Newswire post of 2025-11-06. Rockstar writes that second platform as one combined entry; it is spelled out here. The detail sits in what Rockstar currently lists for the release date.
How many locations are in GTA 6?
Rockstar has named six major regions of Leonida and has never published a total. Any specific count of towns, districts or points of interest comes from fan mapping. The six regions are Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, and Rockstar has named smaller places inside and beyond them without ever counting them up.
Is Vice City the only city in GTA 6?
It is the only place Rockstar's site calls a city. Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia are both described as populated areas with their own economies, and Rockstar's copy never labels either one a city. Rockstar has not said whether there are others.
Has Rockstar released an official GTA 6 map?
No. There is no map of Leonida in Rockstar's published material as of 2026-09-18, and that includes the Extended Look of August 27, 2026. Every full map circulating online is a fan reconstruction built from trailer footage, screenshots and the 2022 leak, so the sizes and distances on them are estimates.
Can I visit all GTA 6 locations from the start?
Unknown. Rockstar's published material on Leonida, including the Extended Look, does not set out how the map opens up, and there is no statement about gating, unlock order or fast travel. That is an absence in what has been published, not a rule. Anyone stating a rule is going beyond it.
