GTA 6 languages: the list Rockstar shows today

Rockstar's own store page lists 13 supported languages for Grand Theft Auto VI. We checked it on October 2, 2026, and it showed English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain) and Portuguese (Brazil).

The Rockstar page gives the languages as one flat line. It does not say which of them apply to spoken dialogue and which apply only to menus and subtitles. For that split you have to look at the console stores, and only one of them answers it today.

Does GTA 6 have voice acting in other languages?

The Microsoft Store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI is the only official listing we found that separates the three categories. The public page shows a "13 Supported languages" label. The listing data behind that label, which we read on October 2, 2026, splits each language into interface, audio and subtitles.

Here is what it marked:

  • English (United States): interface, audio and subtitles.
  • The other 12 languages: interface and subtitles, with no audio.

So the Xbox listing, as of that date, points to English as the only spoken language, with the other 12 covered by on-screen text. That is a store listing, not an announcement. Rockstar has not published a statement on dubbing for GTA VI that we could find, and the Rockstar store page does not repeat the split.

The PlayStation side is blank on this point. The official PlayStation product page and the PlayStation Store product page for the Standard Edition both returned empty fields for spoken and screen languages when we checked on October 2, 2026. That is not a "no". It means Sony's listing has not filled them in yet.

Which GTA 6 language options are on PS5 and Xbox?

Grand Theft Auto VI is due on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar set that date in a Newswire post on November 6, 2025, and the Rockstar store and the Xbox listing both still showed it on October 2, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a PC version. Our GTA 6 release date page keeps that date current if it moves.

On GTA 6 languages, only one console listing can be compared today. Rockstar's 13-language list is not split by platform. The Xbox listing carries the same 13 languages. The PlayStation listing has no language data yet, so there is nothing to compare it against.

Two of the entries are easy to misread. Spanish is listed twice, once for Mexico and once for Spain. Chinese is also listed twice, as Simplified and Traditional. Those are separate options on the list, not duplicates.

How GTA 5 handled languages

Grand Theft Auto V is the closest precedent, and its numbers look familiar.

We checked Rockstar's own Steam listing for GTA V Enhanced on October 2, 2026. It lists 13 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish (Latin America) and Traditional Chinese. Only English is marked with full audio support.

This is GTA V history, not a prediction for GTA VI, since one game's localisation does not decide the next one's. Its shape does match the GTA VI Xbox data, which also marks audio for English only.

Can the GTA 6 language list change before launch?

Yes. The GTA 6 languages shown today come from store listings, which get edited before release. None of the pages above is a final product. Rockstar's page still listed its PEGI 18 rating as provisional when we checked, so parts of the listing are clearly not locked.

If a language is added, removed or gains spoken dialogue, the store pages above should reflect it. We will update this page when one of them changes. The pre-order and pre-load timing is tracked separately in our pre-order and pre-load dates article.

How to change the language in GTA 6

Nobody can answer this yet. No source we found explains whether GTA VI follows the console's system language or offers its own in-game setting. We found no Rockstar support page for it.

We also did not find a first-party Sony or Microsoft page that we could cite for console language steps today, so we are not printing a menu path here. When Rockstar or the platform holders publish one, it goes on this page.

Where cheats fit into this

Language settings have nothing to do with cheat codes. Rockstar has published nothing about cheats in GTA VI, and VI Cheats has verified no GTA VI code. Our GTA 6 cheats status page lists what is and is not confirmed.

How many languages does GTA 6 support?

Thirteen, on Rockstar's store page as of October 2, 2026. The Xbox listing shows the same 13.

Is GTA 6 dubbed in Spanish, French or German?

Not on current evidence. The Xbox listing data marks audio for English only, with the other languages covered by interface and subtitles. Rockstar has not announced dubbing.

Does GTA 6 support Arabic, Turkish or Dutch?

Not on any official listing we checked. None of them appear on Rockstar's list, and the Xbox data marks them as unsupported.

Will GTA 6 have the same languages as GTA 5?

The two lists contain the same languages, with Spanish (Mexico) on the GTA VI list where GTA V's Steam listing says Spanish (Latin America). The listings can still change before November 19, 2026.
